In this article, you will get information about how you can use these straps on your hammock tent.

There are various methods about how you can use different types of straps to mount your hammock. However, one good thing is that hammock straps are easy to use as long as you choose the method that best suits your needs.

The following methods can make your life easy if you intend to use a hammock tent during your camping.

Mounting Eco-Friendly Straps

Eco-friendly straps are easy to use since they are long enough such that they can act as the suspension line and anchor point of the hammock. The straps are also heavy and they consist of metal.

To use eco-friendly straps, you begin with the stitched loop that that faces inward toward the hammock and tie the metal loop around the tree once.

You then wrap the stitched strap around the tree in the opposite direction to hold everything in place.

After wrapping the strap around the tree at the desired length for suspension, you then attach the S hook on the metal loop.

Alternatively, you can attach the carabiner or continuous loop on the hook and you then do the same on the other side and your hammock is ready for use.

Long straps with 2 loops

To mount long straps with loops, the first method involves holding of one stitched loop toward the hammock while you wrap the strap around the tree tightly until you get the desired length for suspension. You then feed the suspension side that you are holding through the loop then pull it tight.

You then attach the hook or carabiner on the suspension to the end of the hammock and repeat the process on the other side.

The other method also involves holding the loop facing the place where the hammock will be. You then wrap your strap once around the tree so that you can pass it through the loop then pull it tight. You need to hold the loop to prevent it from falling then you tie a marlin-spike hitch followed by inserting the toggle and do it on both ends. You then hook the end loops of the hammock around the knot on the marlin spike hitch. The hammock will be ready.

Using short straps that have two loops

You can easily create the anchor point using the short straps but they only wrap the tree once or twice. You should feed the pass the loops through each other and make sure one of them faces the hammock and pull one of them tight.

That is all you have to do to set it up them map how you will support the hammock. You can clip the carabiner at the end of the hammock to the straps using a continuous loop when the trees are perfect.

You can create another suspension system with a rope if the trees are not perfect. You should make sure that you create a strong anchor to support the hammock.

Easily adjustable straps

These are the easiest straps to use and they also consist of loops going upwards on the side of the strap. You can use these adjustable straps together with a carabiner or a soft shackle if you are concerned about the aspect of weight.

To use these straps, you just need to follow some simple steps then you are done with setting up your hammock.

You start by wrapping the strap around the selected tree then feed its end with all the loops via the end that has no loops then tightly pull it. You then clip the carabiner to the end loops on your hammock as well as the loop that is on the strap. This will be the best place for setup.

When setting up the hammock, there is nothing to worry about since the instructions of mounting are very clear with these easily adjustable straps.

Essentially, you should ensure that once the straps are tightened firmly around the tree, then you can then mount the hammock carabiner in the chosen anchor points from the ones available.

Hammock straps are generally easy to use but as a word of caution, safety should take precedence over anything else.

You should inspect your hammock always before getting into it and know the conditions of the straps every time. If you notice any sign of wearing out on your hammock straps, you would rather replace them than continue using them.

The straps for hammocks are affordable rather than risk your safety.
